December was good.
No one was hurt in December.
We liked December.
On the 15th, both Haiden and Kailey were able to get their casts removed!
For Haiden especially it was a long awaited moment. We took more x-rays and made another appointment for 3 weeks later and were told to begin Physical Therapy. I'm not sure how I thought it would be after breaking a leg, but I did not know it was such a task to get back mobility and break limping habits.
Haiden went to a few PT appts before Christmas and made great progress. He isn't crutch free or cleared for recess and PE yet, but we have high hopes for January.
On our way home from Utah, we stopped in De Moines and saw Santa Clause. And the rest of the month passed with the usual amount of Christmas spirit and excitement. Each night we talked about our Savior's birth and the real reason for the season. We tried to the light the world with goodness by remembering his birth, sacrifice, and by trying to live as he did. Our hope is to take that spirit into the new year.
Gah and Pawpaw Steve drove up to see us and it was so great getting to spend time with family again.

May all our Christmas' be white and may our new year be blessed.
