Go Go Samurai 5th Birthday Party!

Haiden with his gold power ranger cake.
We have a 5 year old! He'll technically turn 5 this Wednesday on the 29th, but we held his party this past Saturday. We had a great turn out... 7 kids invited, and 6 attended!

The Cake: I'm very proud of it. My mom and nana flew in for the party on Friday which was my "cake decorating day", but also a shopping day. We stayed out late and didn't get home until 9pm, which meant I didn't get started decorating until 10pm. My wonderful mom stayed up all night with me and helped though! What a life saver! Without her, I would have probably finished about 4:30am instead of 3am. She even did my cookies! I had only managed to finish maybe half of them, and while I was covered in crisco and fondant she finished them for me. (Super big thanks to her and her awesomeness at being able to stay up late even after a plane ride and super early start that morning)

After about 4 hours of sleep... we all woke up around 7am and began decorating the house and getting ready!

This is the cake area. (I'd like to also say my "tape lady" aka nana did a wonderful job helping me with balloons and streamers.)

This is the present area.

And this is the craft/food area. We moved the breakfast table and put up a long kid table.
Everyone made their own power ranger mask!

How cute are my two power rangers in their stances? ;)

We ate pizza and then birthday cake! (Having this kid table turned out to be a great idea bc it contained the "crumbs mess" in one room that was easiest to clean.)
*Notice Logan in his chair participating... he was everywhere doing everything that everyone else was doing.

Logan is eating cake by the birthday boy.

This is Logan and Issy. I just thought they were absolutely adorable! After everyone was done with birthday cake, the big kids started playing and these two hung out at the table together. Logan helped himself to as much leftovers as he could before we cleared the table.

Present time!
Notice Kailey being his biggest helper. She would give him his presents and managed to be sneaky enough to open two when she thought no one was looking. ;)

Little brother always right beside Haiden or not far away wanting to be right in the middle of the action. This is the kids playing with the gifts.

Lastly, we got all the power ranger toys out in the living room where the boys played and watched an episode of the tv show.

It's a little sad to know Haiden is 5 years old. :/ He is such a wonderful kid.  He has a big heart and cares so much for his family.

After the party, my not so little man played with his new toys while we cleaned up.  Then he counted his birthday money and off we went to spend it.  He was so excited! After he picked out a good amount of toys, he still had money left.  He looked up at Michael and said, "Dad, since I have enough money maybe I could get Kailey something too." So he left the store with a pile of toys and Kailey left with a My Little Pony picked out by her thoughtful brother.

We ended our day with dinner at Famous Daves.

It was a great day! We all enjoyed every minute of it.

Happy 5th Birthday to our oldest son!

We love you so very much!
