Haiden's first talk in Primary!

Haiden gave his first talk on 'Honesty' this past sunday in primary.

Primary is what I suppose some call "Children's Church" in other churches.  They meet altogether and then break into smaller classes according to their age.

We are so proud of him! A few years ago, people would ask (in front of him) or would say (in front of him), "Is he shy?"or "He must just be shy".

It bugged us and we never agreed.
Quiet, yes. Shy, no.
In this world someone can be quiet by personality, but being "shy" is a habit that can be broken.

We always made a point to tell Haiden (even after family would say the "shy" word) that he was not shy.  That it's okay to be quiet, but he should never be afraid to speak up.

Primary was a great source of help in this area.  He has been asked to give prayers, share scripture verses, and talk all in front of a group.  Upon entering primary, he was always encouraged to answer questions and speak up. It's a wonderful program and I feel so blessed that our kids get to be apart of it.

Both Michael and I have the "quiet personality" gene, and maybe it was a "shy" habit we picked up, and while Haiden might be "quiet" by nature, he has overcome that "shy" misconception.

Our little man has grown and learned so much over the past *soon to be* 5 years!

The next 5 years bring tears to my eyes just thinking about it, but I very so blessed to able to be apart of it.
