One of the places we wanted to visit with the kids this summer was Nauvoo, Illinois. It is a place of historical sites for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
We arrived and went first to see the temple on the hill along with the statues of Joseph and Hyrum Smith.
We went on a wagon ride tour of the historical sites.
The kids enjoyed it for the first 10 minutes and then only wanted off the wagon, but it gave us a great view and information on the sites and places to go visit.
We thought this was the coolest thing to get to ride in a wagon pulled by oxen just like the pioneers.
We went to the visitors center where the kids enjoyed talking with a super sweet sister missionary who walked us around and took our pictures.
The pioneer games were a lot of fun- we ate lunch and played here for a long time.
All in all our trip to Nauvoo was fun.
There is several historical sites to visit from a brick yard, black smith, to a cobbler, and a newsprint to just name a few. We were there for 2 days and didn't get to see every single site, so we left already looking forward to our next visit.
