D&D's Wedding (March- Utah Trip Part 1)

We made a special trip to Utah for Daniel's wedding!

The drive was long as always but, it was well worth the distance.
Not only did we get see Keri, Scott, Lillian, Case, Nana, Doug, PawPaw D, Meme, Aunt Donna and of course the groom, we also got to meet the bride for the first time which put a fun spin on the special occasion.

We arrived and the whirl-wind of wedding festivities began!:) We had such fun at a reception dinner held for the families to meet and greet-- it looks like our Daniel married into a wonderful family! They were all so nice and fun.

When we were on our way driving I had asked Michael who the best man was, because Michael hadn't been asked so we knew it wasn't him; which we had a fun time joking about why he hadn't been chosen. Michael was asked however to give the opening prayer at dinner, which only served for to further our jokes concerning his non-best-man status. Sadly, the 'real' best man was stuck in MS with no way to get to the wedding in time because of a canceled flight due to a storm. So as it turned out best-man-runner up was needed after all. This duty came with a speech and everything! we all had too much fun coming up with several roasting jokes. I really wish I would have recorded the speech.. it was thoughtful, on point, with humor mixed in. He did a great job for it being last minute and I will admit I was nervous for him (and maybe a tad frightened of the jokes he was coming up with), but all was well. Best man for the win!

....and these kids had a blast hanging out together.

We'd like to take a bragging moment and say how proud we were of our kids. It's not an easy thing to drive 20+ hours for a "vacation" that upon arrival immediately involved a long family dinner, a sealing ceremony in which they had to respectfully and quietly wait in the family room, then have enough patience to wait through family pictures, and then finally attend a reception where we expected them to be respectful and dance the night away. Their patience and fun-loving attitudes held out and we couldn't have been more impressed.

Daniel and Danielle's sealing was a beautiful experience!
We felt so blessed to have been able to attend.

In case anyone is looking closely and wondering... why, yes that is our son Logan purposely turning away from the camera. He really is photogenic; too bad these awesome wedding pictures will never know. ;)

Look at us... all grown up! :)

Congratulations to Daniel and Danielle!
We couldn't be more happier for them.
Marriage is an amazing part of life that teaches us and helps us become better as long we stand strong together and have faith in the Lord. We pray D&D's love will continue to grow stronger as they grow together on the crazy ride of life.  And with any luck, maybe in the future we will all end up living a little closer together than 20+ hours.  Until then, we cannot wait to visit ya'll again soon!
